HOUSE RULES

Here a few easy tips to follow to ensure our pages are enjoyed by all:

1. Be nice to each other (and us), stay on topic, respect each other's opinions and, please, no bad or threatening language, rude gestures or other comments that attack individuals. Be good to your fellow followers.
2. Don't post anything that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.
3. Check your facts – it's ok to provide constructive criticism, but make sure you are not posting misinformation.
4. To protect your own privacy, please do not identify yourself as an ABS survey participant.

Users who break the rules may have their comments deleted or be blocked from our pages.

Social media platforms have rules too. Be sure to familiarise yourself with their guidelines (see Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn).

SHARING

We may share third party content on our social media pages when it relates to our data, products or services. Shares and retweets are not endorsements of the third party or the views expressed in their content.

FOLLOWING

If you follow us, we will not automatically follow you back. Being followed by the ABS does not imply endorsement of any kind.

AVAILABILITY

Our social media pages are monitored and updated between 9am–5pm AEST Monday to Friday.

We love to join the conversation, however, we are not always able to reply to each of the comments and messages we receive via our social media pages. Where possible, we do try to ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions that you provide are passed to the relevant people at the ABS.

We accept no responsibility for lack of service due to social media platform outages.

LEGAL

The ABS complies with the Privacy ACT 1988. For more information, see the ABS Privacy Policy. We cannot engage on issues of party politics or answer questions which could breach the Australian Bureau of Statistics Act 1975 or the Census and Statistics Act 1905 (CSA).
